Editorial Review:
Written to aid organizations in laying the foundation for Six Sigma, this comprehensive and engaging guide provides the tools, strategies, and motivation to get all relevant players involved with improvement from upper management on down. At the heart of the book is a group of statistical tools that address FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), QFD (Quality Functional Deployment), and DOE (Design of Experiment).

Rather than offering just a brief overview, Implementing Six Sigma devotes individual chapters to all of the tools, so as to provide an in-depth analysis of each. A large selection of diagrams and clarifying exercises demonstrate how to best utilize the tools to successfully minimize defects throughout the production process. To provide a deeper understanding, the book discusses the theories of Edward Deming and the history of the Six Sigma program. Steeped in real world application, it presents numerous examples, as well as copies of actual implementation guides used by Motorola.

Enterprise Wide Six Sigma using Cascading Measurements generates 6S Projects 2008-05-21
Not only I've read this book but I had the chance to be Master Black Belt trained by Mr. Breyfogle at Smarter Solutions.
The book shares an unique Methodology of applying Lean Six Sigma company-wide. The described S4/IEE methodology helps companies to implement a statistical-based, cascading measuring system that leads to the creation of projects whenever improvements in business or operational metrics are needed.
The book describes how to select and track the measures so that the Lean/Six Sigma efforts better meet the strategic needs of the business.
Using this methodology the appropriate approach is applied based on the need for improvement: DFSS, LEAN or DMAIC in areas such as these: organizational strategy and vision, communications and education strategy, corporate culture and history, business economics and project prioritization, organizational and individual skills and competencies

6 sigma explained 2008-04-20
Six sigma is faddish and overhyped. However the use of six sigma ideas along with many other useful statistical methods for development of high quality products has had a positive influence on many manufacturing systems in the US and elsewhere. This falls under the umbrella of Total Quality Management which is a system that encourage engineers to learn and impliment statistical quality ocntrol techniques, design of experiments, statistical process control and other things in the black belt training program. Six sigma is an important part of that. This book is a very thick and detailed text on the use of six sigma methods to produce very high quality systems. Although it is a long text, it cuts through the smokescreens and hype to get to heart of the matter. I recommend either edition as a great referemce text and learning tool.

A must for a six sigma green and black belt 2008-01-03
I am using this book as part of a six sigma course and it contains a lot of good information, I find that there is a information in just about every line of the book, all the latest issues of six sigma are covered and explained in detail. Forrest have done a great job in clarifying some of the questions that I had regarding Six Sigma. This book is a good desktop reference.
