Editorial Review:
The Cambridge Guide to Stars and Planets is a working manual and comprehensive handbook that contains charts of the stars in all 88 constellations as well as a concise overview of astronomy. The exquisitely-drafted constellation maps enable sky gazers to recognize stars with the naked eye and to identify the brighter nebula and galaxies. Maps are paired with lucid explanations of a constellation's most interesting features. Astronomy experts Patrick Moore and Wil Tirion provide a comprehensive but succinct pocket guide that can be used at any time from any place on Earth, charting astronomical phenomena through 2003. GREAT FIELD BOOK 1999-03-31 I use this handy little book when I am out in the yard with my scope. It has all the information you need to start your journey. It's small simple design and layout make it very easy to learn as you go. The info given is enough to answer genral questions and look up facts and data about space.
Good book for the stargazer, not for the report writer. 1998-12-08 The information contained in this book is good and detailed - for what it is. However, the main focus of it is definitely for those who are a backyard observer and can well utilize the constellation charts.
